Hard Water Angling and Nature Explorations with OUB!

Ice Fishing with Certified Ice Fishing Instructor, Maureen Stine! She will have some cool science to do in the woods and fields, too – science is real! And real science is real fun!

Financial Literacy Classes every Saturday morning in January – OUB Zoom Event – 11 AM – 12 PM – led by Dustin Pogue, a certified financial analyst who is low vision – SSI, Budgeting, Investments – start the New Year out right by understanding your money better!

Valentine’s Day Event – OUB Zoom Event – Saturday, February 14, 11 AM – 12:30 PM – crafts and food, led by Lexi Green, OUB Program Director

Tandem Bike Event – Island State Park – April 18, 10 AM – 12:30 PM – come have fun on a bicycle built for two!

Camp Clean-up Day – volunteers welcome! Saturday, April 25, 9 AM – 3 PM, lunch provided – event is FREE

Garden Day – at camp! Saturday, May 2, 10 AM – 2 PM, lunch provided, event is free!

Staff Training – June 5 – 14

Cooking and Serving Camp – ages 10-17, June 14-19, includes CPR for all campers and staff

Discovery Science – Your Senses Camp – ages 7- 17, June 21-26 – more inclusive look at how our other senses (besides vision) affect us and inform us – nature, architecture, discoveries to make!

Family Day – all ages, June 26 – stay after Discovery Camp or come al la carte! Family Day is a ton of fun – explore the garden, the greenhouse, play games, learn more cooking skills! Every age invited!

Mini O&M Camp – June 28 – July 1 – bus travel, ride share, other options – city travel, O&M phone apps

Adventure Trip to Lake Itasca, Minnesota – ages 12-17 (and adventurous 11-year olds) July 5 – July 16 – Kayak the headwaters of the Mighty Mississippi River!  Discover Native American art and culture. Tubing in Lake Charlevoix on our way back to Grand Rapids!

Bicycle Camp – ages 7-17, July 20-24 – two half-days of bike riding and one longer day. Includes Self-defense classes. Tons of fun!

Arts Week Camp – ages 7-17, July 26-31 – Music, Theater, Movement, Art, Chopped Challenges!  Veggie Bots! Accessible Arts of all kinds!!!
